Winter Health Tips

Winter has certainly settled in, but that doesn't mean we need to go into hibernation or let healthy habits slip. Here's a few quick tips to keep you on track :)

1. "Comfort Foods"

Many people find themselves reaching for warm 'comfort foods' when it starts getting cooler, but these don't have to be unhealthy options. I love having porridge with cinnamon for breakfast when it's cold in the morning and homemade soups can be a great way to get a good boost of nourishing seasonal vegetables in! Try my Pumpkin, Turmeric and Red Lentil Soup for a hearty, nutritious meal (click here for the recipe).

2. Keep Hydrated

It can be far too easy to let our fluid intake drop when the days aren't quite as hot. If you're finding it difficult to remember to drink water, aim to keep a water bottle with you at all times and have more herbal tea and vegetable-based soups.

3. Stay Active

Don't let the weather keep you indoors - this is the perfect opportunity to make the most of our beautiful surroundings without getting burnt to a crisp. Get out and explore national parks, bush walks, beaches and bike tracks when it's sunny, and use the rainy days as an opportuntiy to try an indoors activity, such as yoga!
